Subject: Limit and home switches

My milling machine is old school with 3 separate NO switches on X/Y/Z and cables are routed all over the place as well as switches installed in odd places that are impossible to get into.

Would like to re-route cables directly to Konnect board, only bad I can see is NO instead of NC so if cable or switches get out of order there is no way to know.

Any ideas or just do it = re-route the the cables as I suggested?

Cheers

Hi,

Usually the Limit Switches that I've seen on CNCs will have four contact pins, two are for the NC, and two more are for the NO, I would disassembly the limit and take a look at that., re-wire it to NC and re-route then to the Konnect. If you are not sure, you may upload a picture of said limit.

Also, yes, if you are using NO switches there is no way to know if one of them is not properly working; Until you crash your machine when the limit switch fails to stop it.

Hope this helps.
